On a visit this week to Ormiston Endeavour Academy (OEA), two education leaders, Sean Harford, National Director of Education and Jacqueline Russell, Acting CEO of the Future Leaders Trust (FLT) marked the achievements of Principal Christine Woods, and praised her excellent work in driving school improvement.

Building on the success of last year’s four day specially commissioned Battlefields Tour, in which 26 academies took part. Ormiston Venture Academy students were offered a fantastic opportunity to visit the Battlefields again, in May, allowing them to connect with the stories from fallen soldiers from the First World War.

According to new research, launched as part of Carers Week 9-12 June, carers are said to be dropping out of education or getting lower grades due to inadequate support.  Ormiston Denes Academy (ODA) is bucking that trend by taking simple actions to support their young carers.

On Wednesday 8 June, more than 100 pupils are to take centre stage at a festival which will celebrate their literacy skills. Ormiston Horizon Academy have been working with the National Literacy Trust on a range of activities over the past year, which culminates in them being able to showcase their work and explore other creative activities at the event hosted by Staffordshire University.

Year 5 pupils from Ormiston South Parade Academy (OSPA) in Grimsby have opened their own pop-up museum. Working in partnership with Hull based Heritage Learning, the museum showcases the pupils’ work from the year alongside artefacts from Hull Museums.
