The transfer has received widespread support from parents, students, staff and the local community in Gorleston-on-Sea, Norfolk. As part of its new chapter with OAT, the schools also welcome new names – Ormiston Cliff Park Infant Academy and Ormiston Cliff Park Junior Academy.

For many years, OAT has successfully raised academic standards amongst its 37 academies, and last year achieved record results at key stage 2 among its primary academies. Both academies will benefit from the full support of the Trust, including having access to its wide range of resources, services and expertise.

Teachers and leaders at the academy will also have the unique opportunity to share and exchange best practice with the other academies across the tight-knit family network.   Retaining their own unique identities, the academies will continue to build on positive community links, as well as working in collaboration with the Trust.

The academies will maintain their funding from the government, but benefit from greater autonomy and Trust-wide collaboration, supporting the schools in many areas, including procuring services and funding for future projects.

There are no plans to change the school day, and the uniform featuring the new logo will be phased in gradually so there is no need for parents/carers to replace existing uniform, unless they are starting in the new academies’ term 2019, or before. OAT’s academies are clustered into regional hubs within the North, West, East and South of England.

Ormiston Cliff Park Infants and Ormiston Cliff Park Junior will join the East region network, which has thirteen academies, including two primaries. Many of which are 'Good or Outstanding' rated and have been recognised for their excellent education provision. The academies in the East, as well as the wider academies, will work closely with two academies in the coming months, supporting them as their journey begins with OAT.

OAT champions the academic achievement and all-round development of the 28,000 young people it serves. It is determined to be the Trust that makes the biggest difference, both inside the classroom and beyond. The Trust’s vision for the academies is for their students to have access to the highest academic, social and practical skills required to fulfil their potential.

Sue Mitchell, Ormiston Cliff Park Infants Academy and Ormiston Cliff Park Junior Academy, said:

"We are thrilled to be joining Ormiston Academies Trust, in a move which will greatly benefit our pupils, staff, parents and the wider school community. In joining the Trust, we will have access to the wealth of experience, resources high-quality education provision and brilliant enrichment opportunities – a vision for education which we already share with OAT.

"We really look forward to working closely with OAT in the months to come, as we continue to provide our students with very best education."
