Posted: 14 Jun 2016
Patricia Walters, an OAT Interim Executive Principal at George Salter Academy has received a CBE for her services to education in the Queen’s Birthday Honours.
Pat is a former head teacher of Holte Visual and Performing Arts College and joined George Salter on a temporary basis. She will step down at the end of academic year with Pank Patel taking over as Executive Principal but continue as an OAT Education Adviser.
She said: It is a great privilege to receive such an honour and be recognised for the hard work and commitment myself and my fellow staff do every day in ensuring we provide excellent education and opportunities for all of our young people. I have been fortunate to work with some wonderful staff when I was at Holte and at George Salter. So I would like to thank them for all the great support that they have given me throughout my career.”
A number of other people with links to the schools sector are to receive knighthoods, damehoods, CBEs and OBEs in the latest round of honours. Seven of them are either heads, chairs or chief executives of trusts.
