Herman’s very own entrepreneur!
Posted: 7 Jun 2016
Entrepreneur Tia, a pupil at Ormiston Herman Academy is celebrating her fifth year as head of the family run business ‘Tia’s Treasures.’
The business was created out of boredom (according to Tia) and sells bespoke and custom made jewellery, with profits being regularly donated to charity.
Tia has a real talent in art and design which became immediately apparent when her mum suggested that she should start a business selling what she was making.
Tia said: “My mum banned me from using glitter at home as I used to make a mess. I really enjoy making things so I started making bracelets instead. Mum gave me some ideas for the name of the business but I wanted to have my own name in the title and the ‘treasures’ part reflects the things that I make.”
Tia regularly has a stall at Herman’s termly fayres and her products are purchased by consumers of all ages. Tia has regularly donated money to many charities including CLIC Sargent, which aims to support children and young people with cancer.
Looking to the future, Tia would like to develop her business further by combining her love of pets, arts and jewellery. With her determination and talent, Tia’s future looks very promising indeed!
