New Principal at Cliff Park - 'a success story' academy
Posted: 23 May 2016
Cliff Park Ormiston Academy is pleased to announce the appointment of Tamsin Poulter as their new Principal. Tamsin will take up the reins at the ‘success story’ academy as Rob Sherington steps into retirement at the end of the academic year.
Rob has taken the school from special measures to being ranked in the top 20pc for schools and academies nationally for progress. He hailed the Ormiston Academies Trust (OAT) who took over the school two years ago in helping to drive up standards and for seeing him as part of the solution when things could have taken a different turn.
Rob Sherington, who has been at the healm for over seven years said:
"I am delighted to be leaving the academy in such good shape and it was the 'right time' for both myself and the school for a change at the top."
Tamsin Poulter joined Cliff Park High, the academy's predecessor school in September 2013 and has been Vice Principal. She said:
"I consider it an honour and a privilege to be taking the role of Principal at Cliff Park Ormiston at such an exciting time in the academy's journey. As a mother, as well as a teacher, it is my firm belief that all young people are entitled to a first-class education and I will endeavour to ensure that all we do represents excellence for the community that we serve.
"I genuinely believe that all young people have the potential to succeed and actively support a strong home-academy partnership. I know that together we can create an inclusive academy, where all students feel safe and secure, enjoy their learning and achieve."
