The academy, which is sponsored by Ormiston Academies Trust (OAT), will be the first Suffolk based ‘Community Hub’, and students will have access to a whole range of Premier League funded sports programmes.

Former Norwich City FC professional footballer Adam Drury joined the staff and students in kick starting the launch of the partnership. Ormiston Denes Academy students will benefit from a whole range of the foundations programmes, and they had a taste of the Glow Kicks session and the health workshop, as part of the event.

The students will have the opportunity to participate in programmes such as ‘Kicks’ and ‘Premier League 4 Sport’, which offers free weekly sports activities and educational workshops. They will also have access to the National Citizen Service, which provides the opportunity to take part in residential camps and volunteering projects in their local communities.

Vice-Principal of Ormiston Denes Academy, Tony Bown, said:

"We are delighted to be working closely with CSF, and proud to be the first Community Hub in Suffolk. We’re excited about the range of opportunities this will bring our students, and are happy to welcome the football club and the Foundation to our Academy."

Stuart Aldous, Head of PE at Ormiston Denes Academy, commented:

"Our students will greatly benefit from the enrichment activities on offer within our community, on their doorstep. I am proud to be part of putting the partnership together and I know every student deserves the opportunity to be physically active through high quality coaching, teaching and learning; a philosophy at the heart of our PE department."
