Ormiston Meadows Academy holds Frost Fair to kick off December

Ormiston Meadows Academy, an academy sponsored by Ormiston Academies Trust (OAT), rang in the holiday season with a Frost Fair last Friday, with lots of fun activities and some special guests attended.

The fair boasted some lovely festive activities, including holiday themed stalls, refreshments, crafts, a raffle, and Santa’s Grotto.

The event was open for pupils and members of the local community to enjoy. Also in attendance were special guests John and Judy Fox (the Mayor and Mayoress of Peterborough), Cllr June Stokes (Cabinet Member for Children's Safeguarding and Education, Peterborough City Council), and Cllr Jenny Farnham (Orton Waterville Parish Council).

All of the special guests were also treated to a tour of the school and afternoon tea with the Head Boy, Head Girl, Deputy Head Boy, and Deputy Head Girl; all of whom helped to also cut the ribbon to officially open the fair.

The exciting event was organised by the Parent’s Voice, a group which has organised a range of fundraising events over the last year, contributing to new equipment and facilities at the school.

Jean Watts, Principal of Ormiston Meadows Academy, said:

"It was wonderful to be able to host the Frost Fair once again this year – its success was testament to the hard work and dedication of the students and parents involved with organising. It’s always great to engage with the local community with events like this and spread the Christmas spirit."
