Venture student achieves prestigious Greshams Scholarship

Ormiston Venture Academy has this week announced that student, Tyler Munro, is the recipient of the prestigious Gresham’s Sixth Form Scholarship.


The full scholarship will commence from September 2018 and provides a full academic and boarding scholarship for two years enabling Tyler to fully experience all that Gresham’s has to offer.This year, Tyler became the eighth student to receive the scholarship as the long running and highly successful partnership between Ormiston Venture Academy and Gresham’s continues. The process of selecting a scholar takes several months, with candidates proceeding through several rounds of interviews and tasks before the final candidates attend final interviews with the Gresham’s senior team.Tyler is currently the Head Girl at Ormiston Venture Academy. Throughout her academic career she has achieved exceptional grades and has always been a role model to others, helping to shape the Union of Venture Students and to improve things for other students.Tyler has represented the academy at debating competitions and sporting fixtures and through the Union has done a huge amount to raise money for good causes. Tyler plans to complete the International Baccalaureate at Gresham’s, before studying medicine with the ultimate goal of becoming a pediatric surgeon.The academy and its sponsor, Ormiston Academies Trust (OAT), is committed to enriching the lives of its students by broadening their horizons and raising aspirations.
