Scale E (£18,870 – £20,541 pro-rata) to Scale G (£23,866 to £25,463 pro-rata) depending on level of experience.

The Academy Nurse/First Aider is responsible for:

  • Working with the Principal in assessing the health needs of the whole academy community and developing a development plan and contributing to appropriate policies
  • The provision of high quality health and welfare services including co-ordinating immunisation programmes
  • Providing advice for parents/carers and academy staff on childhood illnesses and the management and control of infectious diseases
  • Providing training for academy staff to support children with healthcare needs e.g. asthma, diabetes, epilepsy etc
  • Contributing to the PSHE curriculum including in participating in lessons and assemblies
  • Promoting good parenting skills by helping and supporting parents/carers
  • Supporting and encouraging the academy’s ethos and its objectives, policies and procedures
