Vice Principal / Cover Manager and works under the general direction of a class teacher when supervising lessons.
Status: 
34hrs a week, Fixed term contract until July 2020 in the first instance
Salary/salary scale: 
Point 7-11, which equates to £15,196 - £16,449 per annum.

Flegg High Ormiston Academy is part of the Ormiston Academy Trust. The academy has an excellent profile locally, is rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted (2016) and has won many prestigious awards. We actively promote development of the whole child, as well as ensuring they can access a broad and balanced experience in and out of the curriculum. Only 25 minutes from Norwich, and within easy reach of the coast, the academyl is based in Martham, a large village hub set in the middle of stunning landscape.

As a result of the current post holder moving on with a teaching career we are offering an opportunity for an aspiring teacher to gain knowledge, skills and experience to progress onto a teacher training programme. The successful candidate will be a Graduate or working towards a degree who is considering a career in Teaching.

As well as covering lessons, the aspiring teacher/cover supervisor will gain an insight into many other areas of the academy including pastoral care. The aspiring teacher will be supported by a personal mentor and will be able to spend some time in the subject area that they are considering.

This role will include the supervision of whole classes to cover short-term absence of teachers and to allow them to carry out their professional duties.

The aspiring teacher/cover supervisor will be encouraged and supported to play a full part in the life of the academy, including extra-curricular activities.

Essentials:
• Graduate or working towards a degree including GCSE in English and Maths.
• Enthusiastic and can build and sustain positive relationships with students.
• Hard working, organised and resilient.
