Ormiston Victory Academy is seeking to appoint an inspiring, innovative and dedicated Teacher of Design Technology to teach KS3, KS4 and KS5. Ormiston Victory was graded ‘outstanding’ in its 2013 inspection by Ofsted and we are committed to making this success sustainable for future generations.

The Design Technology department is part of the Creative Studies Faculty which has achieved above national average results in all subject areas. We have great facilities in our new building and require a new member of the team to help develop Design and Technology as an outstanding subject area for the future. The post offers a fulfilling opportunity to work with our innovative Creative Studies team and the young people in our successful Academy community. This faculty is a thriving hub for the Creative Arts and Technologies and is a very popular and growing area within the Academy. This area is very well supported and the team work together to develop outstanding practice and to provide excellent opportunities for our students.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who:
• Has a rigorous and inventive approach to the delivery of Design Technology and Engineering across KS3, KS4 and KS5.
• Is infectiously enthusiastic about this specialist subject and has the ability to inspire the creativity of our students to enjoy this subject both within and beyond the classroom.
• Works in partnership with other subject teachers to allow students to achieve real hands on work experience.
• Has strong classroom management skills and a commitment to the best possible outcomes for all students.
• Enjoys working as part of a team and demonstrates reflective practice through the high expectations they have of themselves and the students.

The academy incorporates the successful and growing Lord Nelson Sixth Form College. We are delighted to be part of the Ignite Teaching School Alliance and we have strong links with the University of East Anglia.
