The City of Norwich School – An Ormiston Academy is an exciting, forward thinking Academy with high expectations for all its staff and students. We are seeking to appoint a Specialist Learning Support Assistant to support individual students within the classroom specifically in KS4, or to work with groups of students with a specific need.

The successful candidate will need to possess a genuine interest in young people and an insight into how they learn. Patience, flexibility and firmness are very important personal traits alongside good literacy/numeracy and ICT skills. The successful candidate should show the ability to use initiative to support student’s individual needs and to work as part of a large team. A commitment to, and experience of working with, young people with SEND and emotional/social difficulties is essential. Ideally you will have a specialism in, or be willing to train in, one of the following areas: Dyslexia, ADHD or SEMH. As part of the interview process, candidates will be asked to discuss in detail one of the three areas.
