Ormiston Victory is an innovative, positive and ambitious academy, offering the successful candidate a unique opportunity to join an outstanding team of practitioners in Performing Arts. We seek to appoint a specialist in Performing Arts, but the ability to offer a second subject both at GCSE and A Level would be advantageous.

The excellent performances at Victory have been met with critical acclaim over many years - we value this curriculum area highly and believe it is critical to ensuring our students are able to express themselves with confidence and presence. Amongst the alumni is Hollywood actor Sam Claflin who remains supportive of the Costessey community. Our annual performances include a major production (School of Rock 2017, Billy Elliot 2016, Starlight Express 2015, Ghost 2014, Les Miserables 2013), our Summer Concert, Victory Arts Week as well as collaborations with other Ormiston showcases and a showcase of work in this year's Young Norfolk Arts Festival.  We are currently working with Ormiston to make Victory a hub for the Arts in the East, so this is a wonderful opportunity to be part of something transformational. We have also recently been asked to become a lead CALSA school.

We believe in working hard to ensure our students enjoy their learning and this is reflected in the excellent enrichment opportunities available, which we expect the successful candidate to support and embrace. We value our staff and recognise their hard work to provide the best education for our learning community.

Ormiston Victory was graded 'outstanding' in its 2013 inspection by Ofsted and we are committed to making this success sustainable for future generations.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who:

  • Has a real passion for Performing Arts and a special gift of communicating that passion.
  • Is dynamic, innovative, self-motivated and able to inspire others.
  • Has the ability to teach outstanding lessons across the age (11-18) and ability range.
  • Is committed to raising standards of attainment and developing the success of the department.
  • Enjoys working as part of a team and demonstrates reflective practice through the high expectations they have of themselves and the students.

We are proud to be sponsored by Ormiston Academies Trust and the successful candidate would benefit from the opportunities which arise as a result of this.  If you are interested in being at the leading edge of education, believe that all young people can achieve high standards; we want to hear from you.

This position would be suitable for either a newly qualified teacher or an experienced teacher. We offer an excellent induction package for all new staff, led by a member of the senior leadership team and supported by personal mentors. We would welcome and encourage candidates to visit the Academy prior to application – our students and staff would be delighted to tell you how proud they are of what they have achieved.

How to apply:

If you wish to apply, please email a letter of application and completed application form (available from our website, www.ormistonvictoryacademy.co.uk) to Nicole Hawes, PA to the Principal on n.hawes@ormistonvictoryacademy.co.uk.

Ormiston Victory Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
