Flegg High Ormiston Academy, part of Ormiston Academies Trust, has celebrated the exceptional achievements of its students at its inaugural Flegg Stars Celebration Evening, recognising the young people who make the academy such a special place through their dedication, character, achievement and contribution to school life.
The red carpet awards evening brought together students, families, staff, governors, local businesses and community partners for a memorable celebration of the many stars who shine brightly across the academy each day. The event recognised students whose commitment, resilience, kindness and ambition have enabled them to excel both inside and outside the classroom.
The evening was made possible through the generous support of local businesses and community partners, reflecting the strong relationships between the academy and the wider community. Guests also heard from a number of presenters and sponsors who spoke about the importance of recognising and celebrating young people and their achievements.

Ahead of the ceremony, guests enjoyed an impressive selection of handcrafted canapés prepared and served by the academy’s catering students. Having worked throughout the day to plan, prepare and present the menu, the students delivered a professional experience that showcased their creativity, teamwork and commitment to excellence alongside the gallery of spectacular student artwork. This was then followed up with the stunning Create Showcase, with a range of dance, musical and acting performances.
Awards were presented across every curriculum subject, recognising excellence in learning, progress and achievement. Alongside these, students were honoured through a range of whole-academy awards celebrating those who consistently represent the academy with pride, embody its values and virtues, and make a positive difference to the lives of others. The evening culminated with the presentation of the prestigious Overall Achievement Award, recognising students whose exceptional contribution and accomplishments have left a lasting impact on the academy community.
The school would like to thank its generous sponsors including Bowers & Bar, Martham Boat Dyke Trust, Barkers Photo Fun, England & Co Solicitors, Step Teachers, Hammond Cars, East Coast College, Aldreds, Hendricks Travel, Christophers, Grade A Recruitment, Arcade Florist, Brads Barbers, Reed, Tacons, Teach and Perfect Pixl, for their support in making the event possible.

“The Flegg Stars Celebration Evening was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate some of the young people who make our academy such a vibrant and inspiring place to learn. Every day, our students demonstrate determination, kindness, resilience and ambition, and this evening allowed us to recognise some of those who consistently go above and beyond.
“The awards are about far more than academic success. They celebrate character, contribution, leadership and the positive influence our students have on those around them. It was fantastic to see so many families, staff, governors, sponsors and community partners come together to recognise the achievements of our young people.
“We are incredibly proud of all of our award winners and of the many students who embody the values of Flegg High Ormiston Academy each day.”
