Standout GCSE success at Ormiston Venture Academy

Ormiston Venture Academy in the heart of Gorleston-on-Sea is celebrating the achievements of its Year 11 students as they receive their GCSE results and prepare for the exciting next chapters in their lives.

Across the academy, there is a real sense of pride as students celebrate the rewards of years of hard work and look ahead to their next destinations, whether that be sixth form, college, apprenticeships or employment.

While there are success stories behind all of our students, some individual achievements include:

  • Izabelle who achieved grade 9s in English language and combined science, alongside grade 8s in computer science, geography, mathematics and statistics. Throughout her time at Venture, Izabelle demonstrated an exceptional commitment not only to her studies but also to the Union of Venture Students. She introduced an innovative new approach to minuting Baraza meetings, helping the Union to capture students’ views more effectively and have a greater impact across the academy. Izabelle will now progress to East Norfolk Sixth Form to study A-levels in biology, chemistry, mathematics and further mathematics.
  • Jake who achieved grade 9s in mathematics, statistics and further mathematics, alongside grades 9 and 8 in combined science and a grade 8 in computer science. As a gifted mathematician, Jake was always willing to use his knowledge to help others, regularly offering advice and informal tutoring to classmates during lessons. Jake will continue his studies at East Norfolk Sixth Form, where he plans to take A-levels in mathematics, further mathematics, computer science and chemistry.
  • Litvin who received grade 9s in French, geography and combined science, as well as a grade 8 in computer science and a Distinction* in performing arts. Her results reflect the tremendous hard work and commitment she demonstrated throughout her studies. Litvin was regularly one of the first students through the doors of the Raising Achievement Space in the morning, making full use of the additional time and support available before the school day began. She will now continue her studies at East Norfolk Sixth Form, taking A-levels in biology, chemistry and mathematics, with psychology or history currently being considered as a fourth subject.

Ormiston Venture Academy is committed to not only achieving strong academic outcomes, but to developing confident, compassionate and ambitious young people who are ready to make a positive contribution to their communities and the wider world.

Simon Gilbert-Barnham, Senior Principal at Ormiston Venture Academy, said:

“Today is one of my favourite days of the year because it gives us the opportunity to celebrate the incredible young people who make Venture such a special place.

“These results represent far more than grades. They tell the story of determination, resilience, character and growth. Every student receiving their results today should be immensely proud of what they have achieved and the journey they have been on.

“I am incredibly grateful to our dedicated staff, supportive families and wider community who have worked alongside our students every step of the way. Together, we have helped create opportunities, raise aspirations and ensure our young people leave Venture ready for the future.

“As they move on to the next stage of their education, training or employment, we wish them every success. They leave us with our pride, our admiration and our belief that they can achieve great things. We look forward to welcoming them back as alumni to hear about their continued success in their exciting futures.”
