Tenbury High Ormiston Academy, part of Ormiston Academies Trust, has celebrated its past, present and future with the planting of a special tree in the school grounds.
Former students Rose, Izzy and Ella, returned to the school for the planting, helping to create a living legacy which will grow alongside future generations of students.
The tree has been planted as a symbol of growth, strength and the bright futures ahead of Tenbury High pupils. It will also recognise the achievements, memories and contributions of those who have passed through the school.
The tree was generously donated by local Tenbury-based business Frank P Matthews, one of the largest tree-growing nurseries in the UK. It’s support has enabled the school to create a lasting feature for pupils, staff and the wider school community to enjoy into the future.
Our pupils remain an important part of the Tenbury High community long after they leave us.

The initiative reflects Tenbury High Ormiston Academy’s strong focus on community and belonging. Guided by its vision of “high achievement, outstanding care”, the school is committed to ensuring students are supported to thrive during their time at Tenbury High, while developing the confidence, resilience and skills they need for their futures.
Overseeing the initiative, Kate House, Teacher of Science at Tenbury High Ormiston Academy, said:
“It has been a real privilege to see so many pupils pass through Tenbury High over the years, each making their own contribution to our school and its community.
“We wanted to create something which would celebrate those young people while also looking ahead to all those who will follow them. The tree felt like a fitting symbol of that, something which will continue to grow and flourish alongside future generations of Tenbury High pupils.
“It was particularly special to welcome Rose, Izzy and Ella back to help us plant it. Our pupils remain an important part of the Tenbury High community long after they leave us, and having former pupils involved really brought together that connection between our school’s past, present and future.
“We are also incredibly grateful to Frank P Matthews for the generous donation which made this possible. We hope the tree will remain a special part of our school grounds for many years to come.”
