Students and staff at Ormiston Bridge Academy and Ormiston Latimer Academy are celebrating after pupils received their GCSE results today.
The two London-based alternative provision academies, which specialise in supporting young people to overcome challenges and succeed in education, have seen outstanding individual achievements that reflect students’ resilience and determination, alongside the dedication of teachers and staff.
At Ormiston Bridge Academy, pupils secured a range of strong outcomes. Highlights included one student achieving grades 4 and above across all core subjects with a grade 6 in PE, and another achieving grade 6s in both English literature and citizenship. A Year 11 student also celebrated success with five GCSEs at grade 4 and above.
Ormiston Bridge Academy Principal Sophia Martin, said: “We are so proud of our Year 11s this year – they have worked incredibly hard, and we are so pleased to see some really standout achievements across our student body. A huge congratulations to them all. We look forward to seeing all that they go on to achieve as confident, successful, and happy individuals.”
At Ormiston Latimer Academy, the Year 11 cohort achieved particularly well in English language and literature. Notable successes included:
- Dasha who achieved a grade 5 in English language, a grade 6 in English literature and a grade 5 in art.
- Lola-sue, who achieved a grade 5 in English language and a grade 4 in English literature.
- Another pupil achieved five grades 4–9, including a grade 6 in English language and a grade 7 in mathematics.
Ormiston Latimer Academy Principal Grant Monaghan, said: “Despite significant challenges in their educational journey, our students have shown immense determination, dedication and an unrelenting focus on overcoming the many barriers they have encountered. The results today highlight that with the right support, all children are capable of achieving the grades they need to take their next steps. We are extremely proud of all our students’ achievements this year and look forward to watching their next chapters unfold.”
