SEND crisis ‘harder to fix’ with schools outside strong MATs

Ahead of the publication of the new Schools White Paper, Charlotte Santry spoke with Tom Rees – Chief Executive Officer of Ormiston Academies Trust and Chair of the Department for Education’s Expert Advisory Group on SEND Inclusion – about the government’s plans to reform special educational needs and disabilities support.

In the article, Tom outlines his hopes for reforms that would see more children thrive in mainstream schools, stronger external support for pupils with SEND, and a less adversarial relationship between schools and parents.
