Karen Bramwell, a Trustee of Ormiston Academies Trust and founding Chief Executive Officer of Forward As One Church of England Multi Academy Trust, has been recognised with an OBE for her services to education.
The award is a testament to Karen’s long and successful career in education, as well as her exemplary work in raising the aspirations of her school communities. Karen has served as a Trustee of Ormiston Academies Trust for three years, providing the trust with invaluable strategic advice to help them achieve their mission of delivering the best education possible to the 35,000 pupils in 42 academies across England.
She has also been recognised for her role as National Leader of Education where she has supported significant improvements in schools across the north-west, and in her work serving on the Lancashire and West Yorkshire Advisory Board for the Department of Education and the Priority Investment Board for Greater Manchester.
Through her experience gained from her career in education, Karen is also able to use her specialist knowledge in school leadership, curriculum development, and school self-evaluation to provide training to other headteachers and school leaders across the country as part of the National Professional Qualification for Executive Leadership (NPQEL).
Karen Bramwell, Trustee of Ormiston Academies Trust and CEO of the Forward As One Church of England Multi-Academy Trust, said: “Throughout my career I have been privileged to work with exceptional people, whether at Forward As One, at Ormiston or at other organisations I have been fortunate to work at in my career. I am honoured to have been appointed an OBE – but this award is really recognition for everyone I have worked with.”
Tom Rees, Chief Executive, said: “All of us at Ormiston are extremely proud that Karen has been recognised in the King’s Birthday Honours with an OBE for her outstanding services to education. Karen has dedicated her career to give children and young people the best start in life and she fully deserves this honour.”
