The curtain has closed on another unforgettable Ormiston’s Got Talent (OGT) grand final and what a show it was! Held at the Birmingham Rep Theatre, this year’s event brought together extraordinary talent from across 11 Ormiston schools for a day of live performances, celebration and inspiration.
OGT is our flagship performing arts showcase and competition, offering pupils the opportunity to perform on a professional stage and be recognised for their creativity, passion and hard work. From singers and dancers to musicians, poets and theatre performers, the range and quality of acts this year was exceptional. The atmosphere throughout the day was electric, with pupils, staff, friends and family filling the theatre with excitement and support.
After an exciting day of performances, Heidi from Sandymoor Ormiston Academy was crowned the overall winner – a truly standout dance act who captivated both the judges and the audience.

Lucy from Ormiston Victory Academy claimed second place in musical theatre, delivering a performance full of emotion and polish, while Bird Vision, the talented band from Ormiston Sudbury Academy, tookthird place with their unique sound and stage presence.
All three finalists will now go on to perform at the OAT Annual Leadership Conference this November, representing the very best of what our pupils can achieve.
We are hugely grateful to our pupil hosts, Cali-Jo and Matthew from Ormiston Victory Academy and final judging panel – Mary Savva, Peter Murray, Di Murray and Dr Jen Barker – for their time, expertise and encouragement.

“Seeing our pupils shine on stage is what OGT is all about,” said Jen Barker, OAT National Director of Learning. “The level of skill pupils displayed throughout the competition is truly amazing. It takes courage to step into the spotlight, each of them should be proud of the confidence and passion they demonstrated during their performances.”
Judge Peter Murray added, “There is something really special about this event. The standard keeps rising every year, and it’s a joy to see how the arts are thriving across Ormiston schools.”
Meanwhile, in Ipswich, Thomas Wolsey Ormiston Academy held heir own talent show. 16 children entertained a crowd of parents, teachers and classmates with their singing, dancing, instrumental and joke telling. Judges were really impressed with all the performances but awarded first place to Paul for his rendition of Benson Boone’s Beautiful Things, which included a dramatic leap from the stage!
Joe Bradley, OAT Head of Enrichment, said “At OAT, every child is entitled to an enriching education which celebrates their talents and builds their confidence to try new and challenging experiences. The talent shows at The Birmingham Rep and at Thomas Wolsey Ormiston Academy this year have been an exceptional opportunity for our students and they have all risen to the occasion. These remarkable young people have performed with energy, passion and skill, leaving our audiences in awe. I have no doubt that they have bright futures ahead of them. Many congratulations to everyone who took part!”
