Rebecca Bierton

National Director of Primary and Safeguarding

Rebecca leads Ormiston’s primary strategy, education and school improvement across its portfolio of primary schools. She works with primary principals, network leaders and wider stakeholders to strengthen teaching and ensure every pupil receives a high quality, ambitious education.

She holds a master’s degree in education and is a Fellow of the Chartered College of Teaching. She is a school governor, has served as a non-executive director on the board of a special school trust, and continues to advise a trust in her local community on teaching and learning. Rebecca also serves on several sector groups, including the Primary Executive Committee of the Norfolk School Leaders’ Association, which champions leaders across Norfolk’s 400-plus state-funded schools.

Before joining Ormiston in 2022, Rebecca was Director of Primary Standards and Inclusion and Director of SEND at ACES Academies Trust, and previously a headteacher. Throughout her career, she has worked across primary, secondary, further and higher education, as well as initial teacher training.
