Wasim leads education and school improvement across Ormiston’s portfolio of alternative provision and special schools. In addition, he leads SEND across the trust and is the senior responsible officer for safeguarding across the trust. As part of his SEND remit, he is delivering our blueprint for inclusion across all schools, aiming to provide an equitable, high-quality education that recognises and nurtures the unique strengths and potential of every child.
Beyond his role at Ormiston, Wasim contributes to national thinking on inclusive education, participating in policy discussions with the Department for Education, and previously served as a member of the IPPR Inclusion Taskforce.
Before joining Ormiston in 2021, Wasim was a Headteacher and later Executive Headteacher for alternative provision academies in London, where he built a strong track record of designing and embedding high-impact approaches to attendance, behaviour and inclusion.
