Wodensborough Ormiston Academy celebrates GCSE success as students achieve outstanding results

Wodensborough Ormiston Academy in Wednesbury are celebrating today as Year 11 students collect their GCSE results, marking the culmination of years of hard work, commitment and determination.

This year’s cohort achieved particularly highly in English and mathematics, showing a 13% year-on-year improvement, as well as showing strong advancements in science.

The whole school community has come together today to mark the students’ achievements, hard work and dedication, as they look ahead to the next stage of their education.

While all students have achieved well, some individual achievements include:

  • Tihanna achieved two Grade 9s in English language and English literature, three Grade 8s in music, Latin and geography, alongside a Grade 7 and two Grade 6s.
  • Amrit accomplished Grade 9 in both chemistry and English literature, as well as a Grade 8 and five Grade 7s.
  • Joris secured a Grade 9 in French, a Distinction in health and social care, five Grade 8s and a Grade 6.
